The Future of DAO
Over time, GOLDUCK DAO will transition the proposal and voting mechanisms into a hybrid governance model OR full, on-chain platform in a form determined by the community. The DAO can do this by:
- Hiring DAO members to take care of administrative, project management, and moderation tasks to replace the company appointed
- Creating a community-steering committee
- Implementing on-chain voting
- Voting annually to elect members for the DAO’s Board (the initial Board is in place for 1 year)
GOLDUCK DAO BOARD Members will be working on building a custom governance module for Phase 2. The objective is to enhance the power of GOLDUCK token holders, and support GOLDUCK Ecosystem future products and functionality.
Key Requirements
- Upgradable (probably relying on proxy contract, and proxy patterns)
- Onchain proposal and voting
- Control GOLDUCK DAO governance parameters (vote weight strategy, proposal threshold, voting threshold, vote duration)
- Control future GOLDUCK DAO product parameters (fees, thresholds, etc.)
- Can be easily modified and utilized by other DAOs
Nice to Have
- Delegate-to-many (instead of delegate-to-one)
- Can vote without delegating
- Delegate for X number of blocks (time lock)
- Separate delegation for proposal and voting
To be Considered
- No multi-sig backup or override
- Hybrid Governance
- GOLDUCK Soulbound Token (GSBT) reputation-power focused on Metis platform
- Creating 3 DACs under Metis Platform . Each DAC will be under GolduckDAO.
- Each DAC dealing in a specific product or use case.
- When DACs created, GolduckDAO will be a group of companies
A typical hybrid governance with a trusted multisig might looks like:
